At PaPae Meditation Retreat, we offer two types of retreat programs. Our most popular and comprehensive option is the 3-Day Structured Retreat. Alternatively, our Flexible Retreat offers a freeform style ideal for self-guided meditation.
During your stay, you will learn the Middle-Way Technique, an accessible meditation practice suitable for all experience levels.
Here are our structured schedules with class explanations :
Day 0 (Arrival Day)
13:00 - 17:00 ; Arrival (Checking In) @WellNess Area - Reception
You will have to change into our white set of clothing, you are welcome to get a new set everyday but you're required to turn in the old ones while getting a new set.
You will be reciving important informations about the retreat.
You will be finishing with full donations (of your stays), we are not accepting Card, Paypal or Alipay, we only accept Cash and Direct Online Bank Transfer for both Thai and International (could aso be done with financial services like Wise or Revolut).
**There is no ATM nearby working for International Card, please prepare the suitable amount of cash for your stays in the village**
You are required to bring a 100 baht Cash for your Key deposit when checking in.
You have to be shown to your assigned room before joing the round tour.
16:00 ; First Round Tour @WellNess Area - Reception
17:30 ; Second Round Tour @WellNess Area - Reception
If you arrive later than 17.00 (you need 30 mins to check in and getting to your room) there are high chances that you will be missing the tour around the retreat, as you will be showing the way to all meditation halls and the dining area.
18:45 - 20:30 ; Introduction @MoonHall
The teaching monk of the class is Phra Carl Pathajaro, as he is one of our first foreigner monk of PaPae (7 years into Monk's Life). You will be welcoming with guided meditation and basic important informations to help you have a better and easier experiences during your stays. You will also be able to ask some questions to the monk during the ending part of the session.

We are kindly asking everyone to stay silent the whole time, while being in the room, walking, especially during meal times (you are required to have silent meal time on these 3 days, except lunch of the Last day)
Day 1 (Silent Day)
6:00 - 7:00 ; Morning Meditation + Chanting @MoonHall
There will be guided meditation with morning chanting (you will be chanting in Pali, if you interested to know the meaning of the morning you can (click here).
7:30 - 8:30 ; Breakfast @Canteen *Silent Meal Time*
9:30 - 11:30 ; Meditation Principles @MoonHall
This class you will be learning from our abbot of PaPae Meditation Retreat, Ven. Pawithai Vajiravijjo (18 years into Monk's Life), which he will be sharing you wisdom of Dhamma and some parts of Buddha Stories with 50 minutes guided meditation.
11:30 - 12:30 ; Lunch @Canteen *Silent Meal Time*
14:20 - 16:00 ; Meditation with Nature @Merit House Area - Reception [In case of Raining, we meet at MoonHall]
We will do silent meditation with the sound of flowing stream (small waterfall).
Silent day will be ended after this session.
18:45 - 20:30 ; Meditation with Candles @MoonCourt
You will be continuing your session with our abbot to learn more about Bhudda Stories and Dhamma that you can use for daily life, which on this class you will be provided with a set of candle to meditate with, a glimpse of candle can help you focus and clear your mind while meditating.
20:30+ ; Silent Day Starts Until Tomorrow, 16.00

Day 2 (Silent on Meal Time)
6:00 - 7:00 ; Walking meditation @FirePlace [In case of Raining, we meet at MoonHall]
Our monk will be teaching you differnt styles of meditation and here on this session you will learn Walking Meditation which you can use ulternately with sitting meditation (we will be liting the Bonfire on Winter season)
7:30 - 8:30 ; Breakfast @Canteen *Silent Meal Time*
9:30 - 11:30 ; Benefits of Meditation @MoonHall
On this class you will be back meeting with Phra Carl Pathajaro, which you will be leaning more of Monk's Life, the past experience of our teaching monk and the changing point of why he choose this monk life. You will also be learning how to adapt meditation into your daily life and how to stick with the good habit with guided meditation.
11:30 - 12:30 ; Lunch @Canteen *Silent Meal Time*
13:30 - 14:30 ; Self Meditation (Sit&Walk) @MoonHall
You can do silent self-meditation (mainly walking meditation) with our teaching monk.
14:30 - 16:30 ; Q&A @MoonHall
This class is part two of Benefits of Meditation class in the morning, you will get a chance to ask our teaching monk anything that you might curious about from the morning session (Monk's Life, Dhamma, Bhudda Story and Meditation related questions).
Please be respectful towards our teaching monk and other participants, please be mindful that sometimes you will be skipped if at that moment there are many people with questions and you have already asked your question.
Please do not take the answer personally, our teaching monk is happily sharing his wisdom to everyone.
18:45 - 20:30 ; Meditation with Bonfire + Special Activity @FirePlace [In case of Raining, we meet at MoonHall]
You will be learning with Phra Darek Kantasilo, he will be sharing you meaningful and useful Dhamma such as the Four Noble of Truth in Buddhism, 5 and 8 precepts of Buddhism and How to let go of suffering. You will be also meditating with Bonfire.
A Very Special Surprise after that session that anyone don't want to missed. 😊
20:30+ ; Silent Day Starts Until Tomorrow, 16.00

Day 3 (Silent on Breakfast)

6:30 - 7:30 ; Alms offering to the monks (Following monks in the village to receive food donations)
You will get a chance to follow the monks to thier monk's routine of Alms in the villages, where you will see such beautiful Buddhist lifestyle of the villagers.
7:30 - 8:30 ; Breakfast *Silent Meal Time*
9:30 - 11:30 ; Closing Ceremony (Experiences Sharing) @MoonHall
On our last session of the structured retreat, there will be multiple monks sharing his past experiences as a lay person and the current experinces of Monk's life leaded by Phra Anon Nutthakulo (17 years into Monk's life), as you will have a chance to share about yourself and your experiences during this retreat.
Special Event at the end of the class.

Although every class is not mandatory, you are asking to follow these rules strictly to attend any of the classes ;
Please Do not be Late, you should be arriving at the meditation hall 10 minutes before the session starts.
Do not use your phone during meditation, please keep your phone on a complete silent mode inside the meditation halls.
Do not do yoga or any exercises inside the meditation halls (Sunset Viewpoint Hall included)

"Shaving Ceremony for New Monks"
As before the Ordination, our future monks will be shaving their head, as the action of letting go of every kind of Impurities, which we can also honoring them by cutting their hair to rejoice in their merit and wish them a happy monk's life ahead.
"Monthly Ordination Program"
Every month we will be holdind Ordination Program (no fixed date, differntly every month), you are welcomed to join the ceremony which we will be going to Wat Huai Rai (34 km. away from PaPae) which normally come back to PaPae Around 17.30.
